Michelle Badore is a dedicated and experienced information management professional. She is currently the Manager of Global Clinical and Nosology Content at Solventum Health Information Systems. Michelle jokes that “her title may be quite a mouthful,” yet it captures the essence of her work.

Nosology is the science of classifying diseases. Michelle explains, “To effectively classify a disease, you must understand its cause, effect on the body, and symptoms.” While Michelle’s role is complex, it is crucial in ensuring that health care professionals globally have access to accurate and comprehensive disease classification. This, in turn, improves patient outcomes and facilitates better health care delivery.

Michelle oversees international content development for products and services at Solventum, an independent health care company formed from its predecessor, 3M. Solventum focuses on enabling better, smarter, safer healthcare to improve lives. Michelle easily recites their mission: “We never stop solving for you.”

Starting her career in data centers, Michelle has worked in various industries, from manufacturing to telecommunications. However, she found her true purpose in health care, driven by a passion for people and a desire to “improve lives through technology.”

In her current role, Michelle often collaborates with international teams to ensure that content is accurate, culturally relevant, and accessible. This global perspective is crucial, especially in a field where the nuances of medical terminology and disease classification can vary significantly from one country to another.

Michelle believes that “The rapid pace of change in health information systems calls for leaders to be transformational. As a leader, you need to be adaptive and agile. Leadership, to me, is about empowering others and fostering supportive and innovative work environments.”

Her commitment to her work aligns beautifully with her passions: “I am very passionate about my work because it affects people’s lives. My focus on the social determinants of health and community care hubs is about getting people what they need to have the same basic access to services, no matter where or how they live.”

In addition to her work responsibilities, Michelle co-leads the corporate-wide Women’s Leadership Forum’s 90-Day Mentoring Program and advocates for education and increasing awareness. “I want to help systems advance their hospital equity and improve patient outcomes for all. Removing barriers is something that I am really passionate about and mentoring other women is a highly rewarding experience.”

Information Management professionals like Michelle Badore are crucial in creating more informed, connected, and compassionate health care. Her work at Solventum Health Information Systems exemplifies excellence in nosology and highlights the profound impact dedicated individuals have on global health information.
