Let’s Talk Informatics: A presentation on October 29

Let’s Talk Informatics is a monthly Informatics Grand Rounds series, presented by Nova Scotia Health, dedicated to exploring the use of information technology in health care to transform patient care and drive clinical outcomes. The next presentation, People, process, and physical space: How Building Branches assists in implementing the One Person One Record-CIS, is on October 29, 2020. Registration is now open.

Join guest speakers from Nova Scotia Health’s One Person One Record (OPOR) team. They will discuss how the Building Branches methodology can inform clinical requirements and change readiness in advance of OPOR-CIS. The speakers for this session are:

  • Kim Thompson has a background in respiratory therapy and is an interprofessional clinical lead with OPOR, focusing on critical care and emergency program of care.
  • Lindsay Bertrand holds a BSc in biology and respiratory therapy and completed certification to become a clinical anesthesia assistant. She has joined the OPOR Team as the clinical lead for physician support.
  • Andrea Hilchie-Pye is a clinical informatics lead for OPOR for perioperative services and critical care. Prior to joining OPOR, she focused on working with clinicians to develop and implement surgical and pathology standards for reporting.
  • Katie Williams began her career within Nova Scotia Health 15 years ago as a radiological technologist and then pursued a career as a diagnostic imaging information technologist. She is currently clinical informatics lead with diagnostic imaging / pathology & laboratory medicine with the OPOR team.
