Booking your examination
You will be sent a link to book your exam date and time close to the Application, payment & transcript deadline of your examination period. This will be sent to the email address you submitted while completing your application.
If you do not receive this email around the deadline, please check your spam/junk folder. If you still have not received the email, please contact exam@echima.ca.
Application approval
Applications are reviewed after the Application, payment & transcript deadline. Approved candidates will receive an email 2-3 days following this deadline to inform them of their approval.
Preparing to write your examination

- Please ensure to review the CCCS NCE guide. It is important to read through each section carefully to find more information about the exam. CCCS NCE guide
- Before writing your exam, it is vital to prepare your technology and test the proctoring application. Review the NCE online proctoring guidelines for more information.
- ICD-10-CA/CCI Classification Primer by Joy Fletcher has practice questions with an answer key and highlights coding principles throughout the chapters
- The Canadian Institute for Health Information (CIHI) offers informational and educational resources on their website to assist coders
