March 4th, 2025<\/p>

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to share an important message regarding a leadership transition with you. As of March 4th, 2025, Jeff Nesbitt will be stepping down from his role as CEO, and we want to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for his dedication and contributions over the past six years.<\/p>

Under Jeff\u2019s leadership, our organization has made significant progress in strengthening the role of health information professionals within the healthcare system. His advocacy has ensured our voice was heard in critical discussions, including cross-border conversations on health data. His efforts have positioned us well for the future, and we deeply appreciate his commitment to our mission and members.<\/p>

As we move forward, the Board remains focused on continuing this momentum and ensuring a smooth transition. We are confident in the strong foundation that has been built and the opportunities ahead to further advance our profession.<\/p>

We thank Jeff for his leadership and wish him the very best in his next endeavors.<\/p>

As we move through this transition, the Board remains committed to ensuring stability and continued progress. As of March 4th, we have implemented an interim leadership plan to ensure continuous support:<\/p>

  • Current Chair, Jen Bennett, will step into Interim CEO, providing strategic leadership and oversight during this period.<\/p><\/li>

  • Current Vice Chair, Kathy Braaten, will assume the position of Interim Board Chair, ensuring strong governance and guidance.<\/p><\/li>

  • Lindsay Page will be appointed to Interim Vice Chair which will maintain a complete and effective leadership structure.<\/p><\/li>

  • Betsy Nejat, Senior Director, Partnerships and External Relations, will step in to oversee the organization\u2019s daily operations, providing steady leadership and support to the team while ensuring that our work continues without disruption.<\/p><\/li><\/ul>

    This approach ensures a seamless transition while allowing us to continue moving forward with confidence and focus. Our commitment to advancing the profession and serving our members remains the priority, and we are honored to take on this role to support our shared mission.<\/p>

    In the coming weeks, we will keep you informed as we initiate the search for our next CEO. We also encourage you to reach out with any questions or thoughts\u2014your engagement and input are invaluable during this time.<\/p>
