This ensures that we provide our learners with high-quality training that will lead them to in-demand jobs,\u201d said Bev Stuart, Vice-President, Business Development and Community Initiatives.<\/p><p>The two-year Medical Assistant and Patient Care diploma program is designed according to Manitoba\u2019s growing need for skilled support staff, giving students the opportunity to quickly enter the field after graduation. The program is accredited by the Canadian College of Health Information Management (CCHIM). Graduates can utilize their degrees while working in different settings such as hospitals, clinics, and long-term care facilities.<\/p><p>\u201cThere\u2019s a high demand for medical assistants and health care aides in Manitoba right now. Professionals in these positions are vital to ensuring the delivery of quality care to people living in Manitoba,\u201d said Stuart. \u201cWith the ongoing challenges in health care, including an aging population and increasing patient volumes, equipping graduates with the tools to work in multiple health care settings is extremely valuable for the entire system.\u201d<\/p><p>All students participate in <a href=\"https:\/\/mitt.ca\/career-and-employment-services#bridging\">MITT\u2019s Bridging to Work workshops<\/a>, which provide them with a foundation in the employability and essential skills employers demand.<\/p><p><strong>Who it is for<\/strong><\/p><p>Students with strong communication and organizational skills, attention to detail, and an interest in pursuing a career in health care. These individuals are people-oriented, empathetic and non-judgmental, and thrive in a busy environment. Calm under pressure, they can think on their feet and solve problems on the fly.<\/p><p><strong>Jeff Nesbitt,<\/strong> \u201cOur college is proud to announce the accreditation of the two-year Medical Assistant and Patient Care diploma program offered by MITT,\u201d states Jeff Nesbitt, CEO &amp; Registrar of the Canadian College of Health Information Management and CHIMA. \u201cWe look forward to supporting faculty and students through this program and welcoming graduates who write and pass our Health Information-Certified Associate (HICA) national certification examination (NCE).
