This specialized curriculum is geared toward ensuring a graduate excels in the dynamic field of health services, making a substantial impact on patient care and operational success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A graduate is provided core training in health services, including theoretical frameworks, practice skills in areas such as Electronic Medical Records, billing, privacy and the development of interpersonal skills through sensitivity training. Focused areas of study include patient services management, medical billing and transcription proficiency, and comprehensive medical knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This program is a person\u2019s gateway to becoming a pivotal part of a health care team, ensuring smooth operations and enhancing patient care delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Algonquin graduates of the program are eligible to write the Health Information-Certified Associate (HICA) national certification exam (NCE). Certification recognises health data as a key factor in providing safe and quality care to people across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sandra Wu, Department Chair, \u201cI am extremely proud of our programs. Algonquin College not only provides them with the tools needed to succeed but also the expert guidance of our professors.
