This presentation will provide a debrief of the pandemic highlighting how data and evidence were used to guide decision-making in an environment that had rapidly changed and sometimes limited information available. The presentation also will discuss the importance of risk communication with the public. What went well? What were the pitfalls? Micheal Harding details how he left his Manitoba civil service position early in the pandemic to chase after his decade-long dream for optimal mental health. His three-year quest took him across Brazil and into the jungles of the Peruvian Amazon, and in fact to the very edges of the universe and the mind itself.
