Information Governance – Digital Health Standards Insights from Ontario

Speaker: Sue Schneider, BA, CHIM, CPHIMS-CA, CTSS, Director, Digital Health Standards, Ontario Health

Ontario has a regulatory framework to mandate data standards for interoperability and has embarked on a journey to increase data harmonization, advance interoperability, and increase the effectiveness of patient and clinical experiences. Digital health standards are critical to enabling data accessibility in the point of care/service solutions, in the provincial electronic health record and other health system solutions. As we continue this important journey, we continue to learn valuable insights, increase our collaborative partners, inform our strategic direction, advance our consideration of information and data governance frameworks and practices, and refine our services with the patient, their clinical team, and their data as the priority.
