Continuing Education: Enhancing Privacy for a Secure Future

Privacy Education day

We recognise that privacy is a crucial element in the health information lifecycle, especially in light of feedback received during our 2024 AGM, where many members emphasised the need for enhanced privacy education for HIM professionals.

At CHIMA, we are dedicated to providing both our professional and student members with access to educational opportunities and resources that address this growing area of importance in Canada.

In today’s digital era, privacy education is more critical than ever. It equips individuals with the knowledge to safeguard personal information from unauthorised access and misuse. As data generation and online sharing increase, understanding the risks associated with digital footprints is essential.

Privacy education empowers individuals to identify potential threats, such as phishing scams, data breaches, and identity theft, and teaches proactive strategies for protecting personal information. This knowledge is key not only for ensuring personal security but also for maintaining public trust in digital platforms and services.

We are excited to offer a wealth of resources, including over 17 webinars and a comprehensive Release of Information toolkit, all available through our education directory. These tools are designed to support our members in staying informed and prepared in this ever-evolving field.
