Become a medical coder
Medical coding and abstracting in Canada is open to individuals who hold a CHIM certification. Once certified as a CHIM, there are a significant number of pathways available for further specialization including our CCCS certification, Cancer and many other sub-practice areas.

Reciprocol Agreements
If you have hold an active certification from AHIMA (USA), HIMAA (Australia) or KAHIME (South Korea), you may leverage the experiential pathway to gain certification.
This pathway will require you to do a self-assessment, address gaps you might have relative to Canadian certification standards and write the national examination.
