The Canadian College of Health Information Management is now accepting applications for the September 2022 Certified Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist (CCDIS) national certification examination (NCE).
Clinical documentation improvement (CDI) specialists impact the accuracy of medical documentation and coding in the health care system. The CCDIS NCE covers the following practice areas:
- Anatomy and physiology, clinical pathology, and pharmacology
- Clinical coding skills
- Documentation improvement
- Leadership, communications, and education skills
- CDI program metrics and analysis
To be eligible to apply for the CCDIS NCE, candidates must have graduated from a College-accredited CDI program or have completed a comparable College-approved CDI onsite training program.
In addition, candidates must apply through their CHIMA account and provide payment. Payment must be received on or before the application deadline, September 12, 2022.
Candidates may prepare for the examination through the CCDIS NCE Primer (free for CHIMA members).
