Announcing HIP Week 2021: Futureproof

Join us virtually from October 4–8 as we celebrate the work of health information professionals across Canada and discuss opportunities for the future.

In the past, we hosted Health Information Professionals (HIP) Week in March, in coordination with AHIMA. We received feedback from multiple sources that this was a challenging time of year to attend because so many of our members were busy meeting deadlines with the Canadian Institute for Health Information.

When the COVID-19 pandemic began in March of 2020, we decided to postpone HIP Week to later in the year in lieu of our national in-person conference. The new virtual format allowed an increased attendance with over 800 attendees.

With this in mind, CHIMA will be consistently hosting HIP Week in October each year. This will allow for easier planning for our members, partners, and other stakeholders. We are hoping that by 2022 it will be safe to meet in person again!

The call for speakers will be opening soon.

Sincerely,

Your CHIMA team
