Career Spotlight: Charting My Course – Exploring Credentialed Education Pathways in 2024 Speaker: Carol Barron, CHIM In 2024, Carol embarked on a journey exploring credentialed education pathways. These pathways ultimately led to her decision to pursue the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada (CIPP/C) credential. Her experiences throughout 2024 shaped this direction and influenced her choice of the specific educational route she followed to work toward this credential – a journey that is still ongoing. With over 30 years of experience working in healthcare environments as a Certified Health Information Management (CHIM) professional, Carol sought to apply her accumulated privacy knowledge in a meaningful way. She felt it was important to share her story, including other educational opportunities and programs she discovered, in the hope that doing so might help others in some small way.

Ebook Call Out and Update CHIMA is seeking volunteers with privacy expertise in health information management to contribute to the Privacy installment of the e-book series through writing, reviewing, or creating supplementary elements—such as case studies, instructor tips, and professional profiles—with contributors eligible for CPE credits and formal recognition. |
