As part of CHIMA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and modernize our events, we’re introducing an exciting new way to experience our Chapter Education Days.
 
This year, CHIMA will host three virtual Regional Education Days, bringing neighbouring provinces and territories together for expanded learning, collaboration, and networking opportunities:
 
    • Hosted by: NB, NSPE and NL Chapters
    • Hosted by: BCYT, ABNT and SK Chapters
    • Hosted by: MBNU and ON Chapters

Each Regional Education Day will feature chapter-led sessions and a Refresh & Connect session, where CHIMA members can network with peers, participate in prize giveaways, and earn additional CPE credits.

Beyond Centralization: Smarter Strategies for Regional Coding Success Designing Coding Models That Balance Efficiency, Quality, and Expertise
Speaker: Jodi McMullin, CCCS, CCDIS, CCS-AHIMA

This session explores the opportunities and challenges of regional coding models, including workload balancing, competency-based chart assignment, service-line coding pools, and the impact of frequent task switching between DAD and NACRS. Participants will gain practical strategies for leveraging coder expertise, reducing cognitive workload, supporting specialized coding skills, and designing regional coding models that improve both efficiency and the quality of health data.
